It's time to get off the fence!

Hey, you heard it here first! (See previous post).
Here's a link to a brand new story that says house prices are already back to where they were 18 months ago, in some markets. In some cases, they are higher.
I have decided to stop actively marketing my home (no more open houses or advertisements) as I am under no pressure to sell.
But the house will of course, continue to be for sale and available for showing by appointment. It's just that the price will likely go up.

Red Deer housing market on the upswing

If you were waiting for prices to bottom out, you may have waited a tad too long. Two recent articles show that the housing market, nationwide and locally, is improving greatly.
The Red Deer Express in its Sept. 16 issue said: "Red Deer's housing economy is on the threshhold of being robust with the latest statistics from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. showing total housing starts in the City tripled last month."
The article was full of stats backing up the article's headline: "Red Deer housing starts show signs of new boom."
A Canadian Press story that ran on the Internet Sept. 15 confirmed the scope of the improvement.
"Resales of Canadian homes held steady and the national average price soared in August as the supply of existing homes for resale dwindled to a five-year low, the Canadian Real Estate Association said Tuesday."

We have recently held two busy open houses and we are encouraged by the number of people who have come through and checked us out.

We won't be holding another open house for a while -- family obligations etc., but if you would like to look at our house, please call 403-346-7261 and set up a time to do just that. We are very low key -- no pressure types. We'll stay out of your way while you look through.

See below for more information on the house. Call if you have questions.
